BOARD AND MANAGEMENT AWARDS TOP PERFORMING TEACHERS
The right Reverend Bishop Francis Kaulanda, chairperson of the Bishop Mtekateka Secondary School Board and Nkhotakota Lay Training Center, has underlined the value of teacher and student discipline in raising the standard of education.
During the 2024 honorarium ceremony,
which was held at Safari Lodge in Nkhotakota to honor top-performing teachers, Bishop Kaulanda emphasized that the board is dedicated to putting strategies into place to improve the quality of education. He cited significant development projects, good compensation, and incentives
for motivation. Jesman Seva, the head teacher of Bishop Mtekateka Secondary School, credited the school's success to its stringent disciplinary measures. In the 2024 MSCE exams, 143 students received scores ranging from 12 to 30 points, thanks to the combined
efforts of teachers and support staff, he said. Top-performing teachers were given financial incentives during the ceremony; the top teachers in the fields of agriculture, bible knowledge, chemistry, geography, and history received over K320, 000 at the MSCE, and over
K350, 000 at the JCE.
