MUBAS DEAN OF STUDENTS INSIPIRE BISHOP MTEKATEKA SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
During the 2024 academic visit, students visited the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS). Dr Gertrude Cynthia Sitolo, the Dean of Students for the University gave the students a hearty welcome. She gave a campus tour that took
students to every part of MUBAS. As a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) product with a focus on Biochemical Engineering and food technology, she encouraged students to put much effort in their studies for them to make it to
MUBAS. As a STEM university, MUBAS offers research and innovation support through its University Innovation Pod (UniPod), a joint venture with the UNDP and Timbuktoo initiative. The Deputy Registrar gave a thorough presentation about the University's schools, programs, and career
opportunities, which was a nice addition to the tour. In addition, the university challenged the team leader of the education visit to raise the number of students admitted to the university from 16 in 2022 to above that number in
the following years. Bishop Mtekateka Secondary School received gifts from the university in the form of diaries, calendars, and bags.
